I read this book because AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles was seen reading this on the sideline. One of my employees said we should read it so I grabbed a copy and bumped it to the top of the list. It reminded me a lot like Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle that I read many years ago. There are a lot of great things in this book that talk about being selfless and present to really be in resonance which will be optimal for performance. A key component of the book is that every competition is win-win because when you lose, you learn. Even more the book discusses that an opponent is not the enemy but they are the partner of the dance. One of my favorite stories in the book was about Mugsy Bouges – shortest player in the NBA. It talks about his childhood and dealing with his dad in jail for drug dealing and more and how he still overcame all odds to be in the NBA while bing 5’3”. I would recommend this book to those that want to get some clarity on self-awareness and mindset. It’s good to help someone that might be all over the place when it comes to what they want as well as someone that needs to understand the importance of the journey versus just the outcome.
